Philip Corner ist ein amerikanischer Komponist, Musiktheoretiker und bildender Künstler. Er studierte Komposition und Musitktheroie ua an der Columbia Unviersity, und als er 1959 in die US Army eingezogen wurde und 1961 als Trompeter in Korea eingeetzt wurde, studierte er dort Kalligrafie und veröffentlicht unter dem Pseudonym Gwan Pok lyrische Werke. Philip Corner gehört zu den ersten Generation von Fluxuskünstler:innen, und er nahm u.a. an dem bekannten Stück Piano Acitivities 1962 im Museum Wiesbaden teil. Von 1972 bis 1992 war er Hochschullehrer an der Rutgers Univeristy.

Philip Corner is an American composer, music theorist and visual artist. He studied composition and music theory at Columbia University and when he was drafted into the US Army in 1959 and sent to Korea as a trumpeter in 1961, he studied calligraphy and published lyrical works under the pseudonym Gwan Pok. Philip Corner was one of the first generation of Fluxus artists and took part in the well-known piece Piano Acitivities in 1962 at the Wiesbaden Museum. From 1972 to 1992 he was a professor at Rutgers University.
