    This is the most comprehensive library on Joseph Beuys worldwide. It contains international publications from 1950 to the present day, as well as unpublished literature and periodicals that are no longer available. The entire holding can be researched via the museum library’s online catalogue.

  • Photographs from the early 1950s to 1986 of Joseph Beuys or concerning his works and influence
  • Letter documents
    Documents, letters and writings to Joseph Beuys from c. 1950 to 1986, including printed materials, flyers, manuscripts and notes.
  • Printed materials on Beuys exhibitions, conferences and events from 1960 to the present day

Archive materials in the presentation

Items from the Joseph Beuys Archive are on display alongside the art collection on Joseph Beuys in regularly changing exhibitions. The digital documentation of the archive materials has been in progress continually since early 2010 and forms part of the Museum’s concept.
