Joseph Beuys is considered to be one of the most important protagonists of 20th-century art. His works range from traditional art forms such as drawing, painting and sculpture through multiples and large-scale installations to public performances. With these, he brought to life the expanded art concept that he propounded in the context of his actions or as a political speaker and activist.
The Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation possesses nearly 6,000 works by Joseph Beuys, the largest collection of his art worldwide.
